Safety is the foundation of the Mustang Cheer program. We are laser-focused on all aspects of athlete and family protection with proactive measures for preparation and prevention. Through comprehensive athlete-protection protocols, industry expert-developed emergency plans, and robust staff trainings, Mustang aims to ensure the safety of our guests and the security of our facility at every level. Additionally, Mustang has appointed a Safety Director to oversee the implementation of our comprehensive safety program. Although we do not publish all of our safety measures, below is an overview of Mustang’s safeguards.


Staff Hiring and Training

Mustang undertakes robust hiring and screening procedures to obtain the top talent and best coaches in the country. Mustang’s hiring and training protocols include:

  • Ongoing, multi-state background screenings

  • Annual achievement of greenlight status with the United States All-Star Federation (USASF)

  • Continuous training and certification of all coaches in tumbling, stunting and cheer skills

  • First aid training and CPR certification

  • Workplace Violence Prevention and Training

  • Ongoing Praesidium Academy and SAFE@All-Star Training


First Aid and Physical Safety

Athlete Safety is the cornerstone of our program. Mustang ensures proper staff training and onsite emergency equipment including:

  • First Aid and Emergency Protocols

  • CPR Certification

  • AED Defibrillators

  • Soft-Shell Helmets for Building

  • Concussion Protocols adopted from USASF Guidance

  • Injury prevention through strategic stretches, warm-ups, and conditioning

  • Strict Athlete-to-Coach ratio


Facility Protections

Mustang has emergency protections and procedures in place to prevent and respond to a crisis. Prevention is a key aspect, and examples of our preventative measures include:

  • Dedicated Dallas Police Officer on-site during all peak hours

  • Keypad-Protected Entrances

  • Athlete Pick-Up Protections

  • Fire Extinguishers and Sprinklers

  • Lockdown Capabilities

  • Evacuation Plans and Emergency Exits

  • Facility Surveillance

Weather and Emergency Events

Mustang Cheer trains staff to recognize and act quickly in an inclement weather situation in order to protect our athletes, families, guests, and staff. While monitoring the weather, we have plans for taking cover and notifying families when necessary that include:

  • Constant weather monitoring

  • Constant email updates of class plans

  • Real time updates through email, text, and push notification capabilities

  • Evacuation plan

  • Emergency exits
